Xbox's Developer_Direct 2026 Shows Off Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and More!

Xbox has just held its Developer_Direct livestream for 2026. As you might expect, the event was pretty front-loaded with Forza Horizon 6, but there were plenty of things to get our teeth into, especially as all the games shown are also available on PC, so let's take a look at the announcements.

Forza Horizon 6 Fully Unveiled - Coming May 19th 2026

Forza Horizon 6 was shown off as we expected ahead of time, and we got a pretty in-depth look at the game, including the game world, a huge variety of cars that will feature in it, some new gameplay mechanics such as "The Estate", where you can create your own car playground, and much more. The game is launching on Xbox and PC (including Steam) on May 19th, with a PlayStation version following later in 2026.

Game Freak's Souls-Like, 'Beast of Reincarnation', Launches Summer 2026

It turns out Game Freak can make pretty-looking games when they're not making Pokémon titles! We got a good look at Beast of Reincarnation during the show, with plenty of gameplay footage featuring the unique "vine" abilities of the player character, Emma. It's hard to stand out in this genre, but they're certainly doing their best to do just that. The game will arrive on Steam in the Summer of 2026.

Kiln is a new Multiplayer Party Brawler Game that Mixes Creativity and Destruction - Launching Spring 2026

Taking inspiration from the cathartic feeling both creation and destruction can give players, Kiln allows you to form your pottery characters and then fly into combat against your friends in this hectic party brawler. It's coming to Steam this Spring from Double Fine Productions.

Fable Bags an Autumn 2026 Release Date, and Plenty of New Footage

Having played the original trilogy, I was quite interested when a new Fable game was announced, but over the past few years, my interest waned, and I wasn't too convinced. But having seen more of the gameplay and the game world itself today, I think they're gradually reeling me back in! Fable is planned to launch in Autumn 2026 on Steam.

And that's it for the Xbox Developer_Direct 2026. Only 4 games were shown, but they were all pretty interesting ones to be fair! I'm definitely excited to see Playground Games working on both Forza Horizon 6 and Fable, my two highlights from the show.
