Windowkill is an intriguing twin-stick shooter that takes place on a Windows desktop screen. With the game window constantly closing in on you, you have to fight to keep it open, and you will still need to fight and dodge enemies that are in their own respective windows. It's an awesome concept, and with the game celebrating its 1 year anniversary, a new update was released that helps a lot for those who want to enjoy it on the Steam Deck.

To get Windowkill its Verified badge, developer torcado implemented a bunch of changes to get the game as playable as possible on the Steam Deck. In their newest update, they added a couple of things to the Deck, including a UI text scale option, a new Steam Deck window theme, controller input icons for the Deck, and settings files that are separated from the Deck and PC. This means that you can have separate settings on both devices, so if you share a cloud save, the settings should be geared toward whichever device you are playing on. There was also a double input issue that would happen with the Deck, and that has been fixed.
But that's not all! There are a couple of new popups and buttons for custom asset refresh and a new menu window, there's a new audio visualization background type, a new challenge run icon to the game's UI, Miasma bits and Orb Arrays no longer block player's lasers, the in-game control tooltips have been changed, and the coin hitbox mismatching visual has been fixed.
There are a couple of other parts to this update that I didn't cover, but you can check it all out on the changelog posted via the Steam Community.

Windowkill is available on Steam for $4.99. It is rated Verified.
