The Blood of Dawnwalker May Be Tough to Run on Steam Deck

Next month is filled with so many incredible games, and I’m so excited to play them all. One of the few coming at the start of the month is The Blood of Dawnwalker. The open-world RPG looks awesome, and I love the 14th-century Europe setting and the human/vampire take on a story that is shaped by what we do. I love the concept, but it looks like it might be hard to run on the Steam Deck.

Earlier today, the system requirements for the game were released, and it looks like it will be a little tough to run. The GPU and storage requirements aren’t bad, but the CPU and RAM requirements are a little high. The Ryzen 7 is an 8-core CPU, but the Steam Deck only has 4 cores, so there may be some issues with CPU usage and bottlenecking.

This is also all while using upscaling technologies. Now, it doesn’t give specifics on what upscaling setting it’s on, but if we are looking at the low quality, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on Performance.

Still, I want to remain hopeful. The low settings are aiming for 1080p resolution at 30 FPS, and the Steam Deck has a lower native resolution of 800p. It probably won't make the game 100% playable, so I would say this will not be a game to play on the Deck, but there’s always a chance it could have some specific optimizations. Time will tell for sure, but I do have my hopes.
