The 20 Most Played Games On The Steam Deck In 2024

As of today, 2024 is officially over, and we are on to the grand new year of 2025. There were so many amazing games released last year, and almost all of them are wonderful to play on the Steam Deck. While there were so many great ones, I wanted to take a look at which games Steam Deck users actually played the most, and there are some interesting titles here:

The 20 Most Played Games On The Steam Deck In 2024:

The most interesting part of the list is the absence of some 2024 releases. I can understand why some late releases like Metaphor: ReFantazio aren't here, but I was a bit surprised not to see Persona 3 Reload or Black Myth: Wukong get in the top 20. Only 5 of the top 20 games here are 2024 releases, and looking at the top 100 games played last year, only 19 of them were released last year, too. I would also say that Elden Ring and Diablo 4 are more than likely as high as they are here, thanks in part to their respective expansion releases.

I also wanted to compare it to the games that won the 2024 Steam Awards. I would have expected the winner of the Best Game on Steam Deck award to be on the list at the very least, but God of War: Ragnarok isn't on the list at all. The Game of the Year winner, Black Myth: Wukong, is at number 25, and Elden Ring, which won the Labor of Love award, is at the number 1 spot.

While Steam has the charts we can look at to see which games are played the most on the Steam Deck, there is another page that lists the top 50 most played games on Deck, but sectioned off a bit more. The data isn't taken from the entire year like the charts, so I would trust the current iteration of the chart over it. The chart currently is ranking games from January 3rd, 2024 to January 1st, 2025.
