Shin Megami Tensei V Comes to Steam in the Form of SMT V: Vengeance

Shin Megami Tensei V, originally a Nintendo Switch exclusive on its debut back in 2021, is finally making its way to other platforms, including Steam, under the guise of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance!

Shim Megami Tensei V: Vengeance allows players to experience the original SMT V storyline, along with a new story path, new areas, demons, and music.

That's not all that's changed in this re-imagining of Shin Megami Tensei V. Here's an overview of all the changes you can expect from the Nintendo Switch original:

• A new story branch, featuring all-new characters and a new dungeon and map to explore.
• More accessible gameplay, including a revised battle system
• Greater opportunities to explore the world and new Demon experiences

At the start of the game, players can choose whether to play through the original SMT V storyline, known as the Canon of Creation, or whether they want to start the new 'Canon of Vengeance' storyline. Meaning players who already experienced the original game can dive straight into the new storyline without needing to play through the original story first.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will be available to pre-order on Steam from February 27th, it will cost $59.99. The game will launch on June 21st, 2024. There's no Steam page yet, and we have no system requirements this far away from launch, so it's hard to guess how the game might run on the Steam Deck, but the game is launching on the Switch, which gives us hope it might be quite scalable on PC.
