RIPOUT, a multiplayer co-operative horror FPS that was released into Early Access in October of last year, has just received its latest update. The focus of this update is seemingly on the reworked tutorial, which the developers hope will help newer players get to grips with all the gameplay mechanics present in the game so they can join the action as soon as possible.

In addition to this, RIPOUT is having a free weekend on Steam from April 5th to 8th, so with the new tutorial, now might be a great time for new players to check the game out.

Here's a trailer showcasing how RIPOUT plays:

The new tutorial and free weekend aren't all the news that RIPOUT is getting today, however. A new enemy, called the Leaper has been added to the game. The Leaper will spawn in swarms and move about by jumping, keep your wits about you, and don't let them outmaneuver you!

We're also getting a new sidearm, called the "Missile Pistol". Shockingly, it's a pistol that fires fast-moving explosive projectiles, who would have thought? Perhaps they'll come in handy for the new destructible doors that have been added in the update too?

There are also some miscellaneous changes, such as enemies now having the ability to jump, pets now having smarter pathfinding, as well as some balancing changes and bug fixes.

RIPOUT is available on Steam, it will be free to play this weekend (April 5th-8th 2024), but normally costs $24.99. The game is rated as Playable on Steam Deck according to Valve's testing.
