Wakerunners is the Next Game by MINTROCKET of 'Dave the Diver' Fame

In somewhat of a departure from their previous title, Wakerunners will be a fast-paced Sci-Fi multiplayer title where players will glide across the map, unleashing attacks on their opponents. To top it off, a demo of Wakerunners will be playable at the upcoming Steam Next Fest on February 5th.

Here's a reveal trailer for the game, with small snippets of gameplay dotted in between the somewhat over-the-top visual effects:

The game is a team-based, 4v4 or 5v5 battle arena title, set in a dystopian sci-fi future. Wakerunners will feature a variety of characters, abilities, and battle styles for you to get to know. You can even swap out your character mid-battle if the situation calls for it.

The demo featured in the Steam Next Fest will have 5 different game modes, including Team Deathmatch, and 7 different playable characters for you to use.

Wakerunners is available to wishlist on Steam now, there's no release date on the full release yet, but with the demo planned for the 5th of February, they're sure to gain valuable feedback to help them finish the game.

The game does have "partial" controller support, according to the Steam store page, and given the system requirements, the Steam Deck should be able to handle it.

It kind of goes without saying, but there is no single-player mode mentioned here, it appears to be online-only.
