I am always on the hunt for some awesome new local multiplayer games to try out. My wife and I are constantly playing games and competing with each other in a friendly manner, so injecting new experiences to change up our Super Smash Bros/Mario Golf routine is very much appreciated. Hellish Quart is a physics-based sword-dueling game that fits this bill perfectly, and with the newest update, it should be a bit more playable on the Steam Deck!

With a new update that was published yesterday, the game's engine has been updated to accommodate the newest upscalers, and with that, FSR 3 has been implemented in the game! Thanks to this, we should be able to increase the performance of the game on the Steam Deck, and it definitely seems to help a bit.
When testing the game, I found that the performance was more stable and overall looked much better with FSR 3 on. There were some stages that still had a little slowdown, but with Hellish Quart in early access, there could still be some optimization on the way. Overall, I was enjoying playing way more than I expected and I hope it brings in even more Steam Deck optimization soon for some of the stages.

Hellish Quart is in early access and can be purchased on Steam for $16.99. It is currently Steam Deck Verified.
