The closed alpha for Delta Force: Hawk Ops will begin tomorrow, August 6th. This means that if you're interested in the Alpha test, you should sign up now. There are 3 ways to do so, you can either sign up through playdeltaforce.com, access Steam's Playtest feature on the Delta Force: Hawk Ops store page or follow Delta Force on X for information on Twitch Drop announcement and rules.

Unfortunately, the developers have opted to use ACE anti-cheat, the same used for League of Legends, which is a kernel-level anti-cheat, they famously don't play ball with Linux devices.

You can check out the Delta Force: Hawk Ops Alpha trailer below:

Delta Force: Hawk Ops will be free-to-play when it launches, and is a tactical shooter much like previous entries in the Delta Force series.

It will feature large-scale multiplayer modes such as 32v32, a smaller PvPvE mode, as well as an action-packed single-player/co-op campaign (which you will have to pay for). Plus, there'll be a wide variety of customizable weapons at your disposal.

The upcoming test will include both multiplayer modes:

  • Havoc Warfare: A 32v32 player game mode where teams battle across two massive maps (available in the Alpha) of authentic terrain, utilizing a range of military vehicles, tanks, and aircraft to take on the enemy across the large living battlefields.
  • Hazard Operations: Form a squad of three to take on rival teams and marauding AI-controlled mercenaries and Royal Guards. Random events across three huge maps (available in the Alpha) will keep players on their toes, while PvE-focused missions can be completed for valuable loot.

Delta Force: Hawk Ops will also be at the show floor during Gamescom.

Delta Force: Hawk Ops is available to wishlist on Steam, it's due to launch this October, but you can sign up for the Alpha playtests right now. Which will begin on August 6th.

Unfortunately, as I said at the start of this article, this one is unlikely to run on the Steam Deck, as the developers are using a kernel-level anti-cheat. There's also no controller support in the game yet.
