DayZ Reports All Time High Player Count

DayZ might be one of the most recognized games around, but it is still going strong. Bohemia Interactive announced that DayZ has broken player records across all platforms, following the release of the second big DLC: DayZ Frostline.

It is reasonable to say that DayZ probably pioneered the open-world survival genre, and while I found many issues from my experience, it’s impressive how the game is clinging on in such a wide market.

DayZ Frostline sold over 300,000 copies in its first week after launch, and this has seen a big uptick in returning players! It peaked at 500,000 daily players on October 20th, of which over 235,000 were on Steam. What’s more impressive is the concurrent player count hit its highest point ever, with 79,000 players on Steam playing at the same time. Not bad for a very old game!
