The AYN Thor Will Be Getting Another Price Increase Later This Month

The AYN Thor is still one of the best Android handhelds to get if you have a Steam Deck. It has great power, a solid price, and offers a completely unique experience thanks to its dual-screen design. It makes this the perfect emulation device, which offers the best way to play DS or 3DS games. It’s still a device I highly recommend, and I recommend getting one soon because the price is going to go up once again, thanks to the skyrocketing price of RAM and SSDs.

Announced on the AYN Thor discord server, the handheld is going to be getting a price increase later this month. Currently, the new pre-order batch for the Thor and AYN’s other handheld, the Odin 3, have both gone live, and the announcement, they also mentioned that both devices will be getting a price increase later on. The current price will remain until inventory runs out, and once that’s done, the price increase will take effect.

There are no details on what the price increase will actually be, just that it will be coming later this month. Here are the current prices for all the models of both handhelds:

AYN Thor:

• Lite - $249
• Base - $319
• Pro - $399
• Max - $469
• Max - $549

Odin 3:

• Base - $339
• Pro - $439
• Max - $489

In that same post, they also mentioned that the pre-orders will start shipping in August and will still use UFS 3.1 storage. Personally, I would say it’s worth the way to get this handheld, and if the price is going to be going up soon, it could be the best time to pick one up. I loved my device, and even though I have the cheapest model, it still was perfect for everything I needed it for. It was the best companion to the steam deck, offering a unique experience that I couldn’t get on the Deck. And it’s something I highly recommend checking out if you’re looking for a dedicated emulation device that can also play some Android games. It’s also very competent at playing some PC games through apps like GameNative, so that’s interesting.

The Odin 3 should be very capable of doing all this as well, but it is a single screen device. It is more powerful than the Thor as well, but since it offers a similar experience to the Deck, it’s not something I would say is as great as a companion as the Thor is.

Regardless, both of these devices are great, and if the price is going to be increasing soon, it’s going to be the best time to pick one up.
