Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment are gearing up for the release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on September 9th, and today they have unveiled a new developer diary video taking you behind the scenes for a glimpse at all the work that is going into their hotly-anticipated third-person action shooter.

You can check out the developer diary below:

The video dives into the work that's going on at Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment to deliver a game worthy of its predecessor, fans’ expectations, and the immeasurable scale of war in the 41st Millennium. Be it the brutal efficiency of the Space Marines, the gigantic scale of the game’s environments, or the unique technology behind the Tyranid swarms.

In somewhat more disappointing news this week, the game's Open Public Beta, which was accepting sign-ups, has been canceled, with the developers stating they would rather focus their time on polishing the game for the full release in September, rather than host a Beta which would take away their focus from development.

Space Marine 2 is almost ready. We are now entirely focused on optimization, polish and fixing remaining issues ahead of launch on September 9. This means we will not run a public online beta, as it would take the development teams away from preparing for the full launch, and our priority is to ensure the best possible experience at release.

We know this is disappointing news for some of you. As a thank you to those interested in participating, players who registered via the online signup before June 28, 2024, midnight Paris Time, will receive the limited Bolt Pistol skin
