For someone who has been on a kick for simulation games, I am shocked I never saw Trash Goblin. This early access cozy shopkeeping game is all about getting new items, uncovering and cleaning them, and then selling to customers coming in, while upgrading your shop with better tools and an expanded workspace. It makes me think of a medieval fantasy shop simulation experience and one that sounds like it will be great to play on the Steam Deck.

The newest update focused primarily on the cleaning portion of the game and made it much better to experience on the Steam Deck. Developer Spilt Milk Studios made a huge optimization pass for the cleaning portion, and while everyone playing should feel the improvements, they specifically mention that it will be really felt on the Steam Deck.

We also have new upgrades for sponges, soak tub, and chisel, a new dirt highlight feature to find hidden patches of dirt to clean up, smaller items are easier to clean with dirt that now scales with trinket size, a new way to rotate trinkets (which should be better if playing on a gamepad), and a ton of other updates and bug fixes across the game.

You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Trash Goblin is available on Steam for $14.99. While it is rated Unsupported, the developer has mentioned that there will be full Steam Deck support by the time the game has left early access. It is playable right now regardless, but it sounds like proper controller support will be part of their support coming as it releases.
