Maximum Entertainment and developer Brimstone Games announced on July 18th that their chaotic open-world city builder Overthrown will launch on PC this fall through Steam Early Access.

Overthrown Announcement Trailer

Overthrown's Premise

The open-world setting of Overthrown lets players build and run their own kingdoms however they want, and the game's unique feature, which lets players pick up and throw almost anything in the game world, makes it stand out. This includes characters, buildings, trees, and even other players. It gives the game a level of creativity and interaction that isn't often found in city-building games.

Solo or Co-op

You can play Overthrown alone or with up to six other people in co-op mode. This makes it an appealing option for people who like to play alone or with others. The cooperative mode of the game promises to be engaging because it lets two or more people work together to build, destroy, and plan their cities in the same space.

City Builder Gameplay

Building, managing resources, and defense are all part of the game. With the help of a magical crown, players can pick up and throw things, which can be used strategically to protect the kingdom from mutants and bandits. Along with defensive strategies, players must focus on farming the land and gathering resources to turn their small state into a strong kingdom that can support itself.

Overthrown looks like it could be a fun and interesting game, and its sandbox mechanics mean that city planning and kingdom management have endless possibilities. You can add Overthrown to your Steam Wishlist right now to get all the latest updates.

It has full controller support and seems like it could be playable on the Steam Deck, so here's hoping!
