My excitement knows no bounds for the upcoming new title, The Rogue Prince of Persia. It looks like the Prince of Persia game I have always wanted, and adding solid replayability to it thanks to the roguelike elements in there. I love how it looks, and it seems like the perfect game to play on the Steam Deck. And even though it seems like it will run just fine, it is always great to have confirmation. And now, we have some confirmation!
Over on X/Twitter, the developer of The Rogue Prince of Persia, Evil Empire, posted about their upcoming title. Under it, user @blitz9942 left a comment asking if it will be playable on the Steam Deck when it is released. And, to follow up on it, Evil Empire responded with a simple "Hell Yeah."
While it would have been great to get more details, it is still wonderful to have a confirmation that it will be playable to some degree. With how the game looks, I am expecting a moderately low drain, probably around 9W - 11W, and 60 FPS. This could change, considering it is releasing in early access and may still need some optimization, but based on the art style, I have a feeling it will be fantastic to play portable.
We have reached out to Evil Empire asking about more specific performance details on the Deck and if they have done any internal testing.
The Rogue Prince of Persia can be wishlisted on Steam ahead of its May 14th release date.
