Are you as excited as I am about Telltale making a return into the gaming world? I know I am. The Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, and Borderlands series were near and dear to me, so when I heard they were returning with The Expanse, I was so excited. I had also just started watching the TV show at the time, so this was great timing. For Steam Deck users though, it won't be as easy to play due to the game being an Epic Store exclusive. Luckily, while we had no direct confirmation before, we can now say The Expanse will be coming to Steam!
Confirmed by the Telltale Twitter account in a comment to our post, The Expanse will be coming to Steam at a later date.
As for when the game will be coming, we can't be too sure when. As with other common Epic exclusive deals, we could see this game reach Steam a year after launch, which would be our best bet. No matter what, we don't believe the game will be coming to Steam at least until all episodes have been released, which will be September 21st. Regardless, it is nice to have confirmation to some degree, so if you are holding out hope for a Steam release, rest assured, it is coming!
We are currently reviewing the Epic Games Store version of the game, so we will be reporting on its performance and playability soon! And of course, we will update our reviews with information from the Steam version once released.
The Expanse: A Telltale Series is the newest game from the acclaimed studio behind some of the most engaging story-driven games that been created. In The Expanse, you will follow Camina Drummer and explore the uncharted edges of the Belt on the Artemis spaceship. You will follow through the story and make extremely difficult choices, revealing the resolve of Drummer while you scour shipwrecks, take on pirates, survive a mutiny, and more. The game takes place as a prequel to the TV show, so if you haven't seen it yet, you won't be spoiled!
Like other Telltale games, this will have an episodic release with a new episode releasing every 2 weeks. There are 5 episodes total with the last episode releasing September 21st.
If you can't wait, The Expanse is available right now on Epic Games and you can pre-order/purchase it for $40 with the game releasing tomorrow!
