The Xbox Gamescom Day 3 broadcast just aired, and one of the announcements shown was the reveal of a release date for Tails of Iron 2, along with a brand-new trailer. Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter will be released in February 2025 on Steam.

In Whiskers of Winter, players will take up the mantle of Arlo – son of the Warden of the North – in an
epic quest across the harsh northern land to overcome an ancient evil from the frozen wastelands beyond.

You can check out the release date trailer below:

A direct sequel to the original Tails of Iron, Whiskers of Winter is set in the aftermath of the original game’s southern war between Rat and Frog.

Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter is keeping some things familiar by building upon what its predecessor created, but you can also expect the addition of new gameplay features that will keep the game's combat feeling fresh.

Whiskers of Winter will also see the return of Doug Cockle (The Witcher 3, Baldur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake 2) who is returning to narrate Arlo’s campaign of bloody revenge.

If you happen to be at Gamescom, you can try out a demo of Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter at the Indie Arena Booth, Hall 10.2, F010g-E019.

Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter will be launching on Steam in February 2025, you can wishlist the game now. The game will have full controller support and the system requirements are well within the Steam Deck's reach, so you shouldn't have any trouble playing this one.
