An incredible achievement that we knew was coming has finally happened! According to ProtonDB, Steam now has 4,000 games listed as Steam Deck Verified or Playable. This means that according to Steam, 4,000 games can be played on the Deck without much trouble.

While the verified system from Valve does need some work, it is great seeing them actively check to see if games will be running. The verified system does a great job at giving a good starting point for games, though I wouldn't say it is a make or break kind of deal.

There are a significant amount of games marked as "Unsupported" that work just as well as the ones that are verified. Even better, you can use Proton GE to make some of them even more playable! Don't know what Proton GE is? Well we have a guide on it and how to install it onto your Deck!
