Steam Deck Verified/Playable Highlights 10/16/23 - 10/22/23

This last week was another slow one, but that doesn't mean there weren't any great games added to Steam Deck Verified/Playable! Monster Hunter: World, Star Ocean The Second Story R, and 7 others are part of our highlights for the past week, and they are all worth a look:

Verified or Playable games don't automatically mean they work amazing out of the box. Some of these games may require work to optimize and play well. Here are our thoughts on the Verified system and how it can be fixed.

Monster Hunter: World (Verified)

Welcome to a new world! In Monster Hunter: World, the latest installment in the series, you can enjoy the ultimate hunting experience, using everything at your disposal to hunt monsters in a new world teeming with surprises and excitement.

The game is $29.99 and rated Verified.

Star Ocean The Second Story R (Verified)

In this science fantasy RPG, choose between Claude or Rena, play through their perspectives, and unlock various endings. Recruit allies and defeat foes in fast paced real-time battles.

The game is available for pre-order on Steam ahead of its November 2nd release date for $49.99. It is rated Verified.

Wizard With a Gun (Playable)

Wizard with a Gun is an online sandbox survival game for 1 - 2 players set in a magical wilderness wrought with dangerous creatures and arcane mysteries. Embark on a journey alone or with a friend to collect, craft, and outfit your wizard however you see fit as you explore the unknown.

The game is $24.99 and rated Playable due to some small in-game text and needing to use the virtual keyboard.

Endless Dungeon (Playable)

ENDLESS™ Dungeon is a Rogue-lite Tactical Action game, set in the award-winning ENDLESS™ Universe. Recruit a team of shipwrecked heroes, plunge into a long-abandoned space station, and protect your crystal against never-ending waves of monsters… or die trying, get reloaded, and try again.

The game is $29.99 and rated Playable due to small in-game text, and the first-time setup needs an internet connection.

Kona II: Brume (Verified) (SDHQ Review)

Northern Québec, 1970. A bizarre mist —the Brume— is disconnecting a rural mining village from its quiet reality. Step into the shoes of Detective Carl Faubert as he unfolds the mysteries haunting the region while battling for his own survival.

The game is $29.99 and rated Playable due to some small in-game text.

El Paso, Elsewhere (Verified) (SDHQ Review)

STAKES. GUNS. SLOW-MO. Fight werewolves and vampires in a reality-shifting motel. Dive through barricades to escape the grasp of evil puppets. Destroy the villain you loved. A new, third-person love letter to classic shooters. Neo-noir never looked so good.

The game is $19.99 and rated Verified.

ATOM RPG Trudograd (Verified)

ATOM RPG: Trudograd is a turn-based post-apocalyptic roleplaying game, which continues the story of ATOM RPG as a stand-alone sequel/expansion, and follows the traditions set by classic cRPGs such as the early Fallout and Wasteland titles.

The game is $10.99 and rated Verified.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Echo Edition (Verified)

This is an asymmetrical game of hide and seek. In true form to IllFonic’s past titles, this title is a 4v1 setup where players will either play as part of a team of new Ghostbusters or a singular Ghost.

The game is on sale for $14.99 until October 26th and rated Verified.

Torn Away (Verified)

Torn Away is an interactive story with a unique blend of adventure games, side-scrollers, and cinematic first-person levels. Experience the tragedy of World War II through the eyes of a child and survive without losing your humanity.

The game is $14.99 and rated Verified.
