This week, we have some awesome games that got the Steam Deck Verified/Playable badge. There were some nice upcoming games, like Persona 3 Reload and Tomb Raider, but also some older games that got the badge, like One Way Heroics and Seven: Enhanced Edition. Here are the highlights we found that got the badge last week:
Verified or Playable games don't automatically mean they work amazing out of the box. Some of these games may require work to optimize and play well. Here are our thoughts on the Verified system and how it can be fixed.
Steam Deck Verified/Playable Highlights 1/15/24 - 1/21/24
Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered (Verified)
Play the original three Tomb Raider adventures with all expansions and secret levels in this definitive collection. Solve ancient mysteries in this globe-trotting adventure that follows Lara Croft around the world. Each game has updated visuals, though you can swap back to the original aesthetic whenever you'd like!
The collection will be released February 14th and is on sale for $24 until its release date. It is rated Verified.
Palworld (Playable)
Fight, farm, build and work alongside mysterious creatures called "Pals" in this completely new multiplayer, open world survival and crafting game! If you are looking for an open-world survival Pokemon-like game with guns, this is going to be right up your alley!
The game is in early access and is on sale for $26.99 until January 25th. It is rated Playable due to needing to change settings to perform well on Deck, small text, needing to use the virtual keyboard, showing incorrect controller icons, and possibly needing a community-made controller layout. We did test the game on the Deck and it is playable, but expect some compromises for now.
One Way Heroics (Playable)
Across all dimensions, the only constant is Darkness! A procedurally generated RPG-roguelike journey across the multiverse! In One Way Heroics, you take on the role of an intrepid adventurer who must travel across the land and face the Demon Lord before a mysterious darkness engulfs everything.
The game is $3.49 and is rated Playable due to sometimes showing incorrect controller icons, a launcher/setup tool that needs touchscreen, needing a community controller configuration, and you may need to manually quit via the Steam overlay. It also says you need to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, though in a recent patch, this should be fixed!
Shardpunk: Verminfall (Verified) (SDHQ Review)
The war is lost, the Capitol lies in ruins, and you’re on the run! Shardpunk mixes turn-based tactical strategy with RPG, survival, and resource management as you gather your team, scavenge for resources, fight enemy hordes, and seek shelter to live another day.
The game is $13.99 currently, but it should be going on sale soon to celebrate its new Verified status.
Reigns: Three Kingdoms (Playable)
Inspired by the beloved Chinese epic "Romance of the Three Kingdoms," this game thrusts players into the turbulent final years of the Han dynasty. Players will encounter the many factions, wars, and heroes of the saga as they swipe through to make high-stakes decisions, team up with the right army at the right time, gain power, and more.
The game is $2.99 and is rated Playable due to needing to manually set the display resolution.
Garten of Banban 6 (Playable)
Explore the forgotten levels of Banban’s Kindergarten. Survive the new terrors that reside below. Uncover the truth behind the place, and find the whereabouts of your missing child…
The game is $9.99 and is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, small in-game text, and needing to manually change graphics settings.
Seven: Enhanced Edition (Verified)
Seven: Enhanced Edition is an open-world, isometric stealth and action role-playing game, in which you play as Teriel, a master thief sent on a mission that will shake the foundations of the Vetrall Empire. Includes the Drowned Past expansion.
The game is on sale for $4.49 for the next 8 hours before it goes up to $29.99 and is rated Verified.
Teslagrad 2 (Verified)
Lumina, a young Teslamancer, finds herself stranded after her airship crash lands in Wyrmheim, a remote and treacherous land to the North. Embark on a dangerous adventure, exploring a gigantic, abandoned tower looming over a fjordside valley, on a quest to get Lumina home and back to her family.
The game is on sale for the next 8 hours at $10.99 before it goes back to its $19.99 price tag, and is rated Verified.
Farmer's Life (Playable)
Unleash the Farmer within. Dive into the rustic charm of rural living in "Farmer's Life," where you'll experience the joy and challenges of life on a vibrant farmstead. Plant, grow, and embrace a country living in a vast open world. You choose from diverse mechanics and endless possibilities.
The game is on sale for $12.99 until January 25th. It is rated Playable due to small in-game text, changing graphics settings for optimal performance on Deck, sometimes showing incorrect controller icons, and needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard.
And that's the end of this list! You can also check out last week's list, which has some amazing games, including Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, and Sail Forth!
