For the last two years, gamers across the US, UK, and Europe have had the chance to use the Steam Deck to take their PC gaming on the go, and since last year, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong have been able to as well. That leaves a lot of other countries that haven't had the opportunity or chance to get one of the best handheld PCs in existence. Luckily, that's going to change, and Australians will get a chance to grab a Steam Deck very soon.
Last month at PAX AUS, Valve announced that the Steam Deck will be sold in Australia starting this month, and now, we know the official start date will commence on November 19th. This was announced via the official Steam Deck Twitter/X account, which mentions it will go live at 10am AEDT and the device can be wishlisted now:
As I mentioned in our previous article chronicling the announcement, the device will be available in the current three models and priced at:
- 256GB LCD: $649 AUD
- 512GB OLED: $899 AUD
- 1TB OLED: $1,049 AUD
It took its sweet time to get here, but I am happy that Australians will be able to purchase the Steam Deck for themselves starting in two weeks! You can wishlist it now on Steam to prepare for ordering it on November 19th.
