There were a ton of great games that were shown during Annapurna's showcase in February, but Skin Deep stuck with me. I love the visual style and it looks like a hilarious game about sneaking through a starship to survive against pirates. It looks like we will have a good chunk of freedom to tackle it however we want as well, which makes me even more excited to see what kind of game this will be.

Ahead of its April 30th release, developer Blendo Games took a moment to post on the Steam Community about getting Steam Deck Verified and the specific features they included to make sure it plays well on the go. And after reading it, it's easy to see just how much the team cares about making it playable on the go.

In the Steam Community Post, they detailed four different features the game has to make it great for portable play. The controller glyphs they included are specific to the Steam Deck and will come up automatically when playing on one. They used Xelu's Free Controllers and Keyboard Prompts, which provide free-to-use controller icons for developers or anyone to use for personal and commercial products. They do have slight differences from the Xbox prompts, so it's nice to see specific support.

This also means we have full controller support, and the team has been taking a lot of time to make sure it has proper gamepad support. They mention functionality for setting the deadzone and acceleration, an option to swap sticks, and the ability to re-bind controls.

They also made sure the game will automatically select the correct screen resolution of 1280x800, so it sounds like the game will support 16:10 resolutions. And finally, they talked about Steam cloud support, so you can continue your game on other devices. They mention making sure your video settings are not carried over, which is wonderful. So, if you play on a more powerful PC and a Steam Deck, the quality settings can be configured for each specific device.

It sounds like Skin Deep is going to be an awesome game to play on the go, and I can't wait to try it for myself! You can wishlist the game right now on Steam ahead of its April 30th release date, and it's already rated Steam Deck Verified!
