I am always on the hunt for new simulators to play, especially ones that give me freedom. I love building up my own reputation and work while also having the freedom to live out the life I want. SAELIG appears to be exactly that. It blends together simulation, RPG, strategy, and business management to create what looks like a satisfying experience based on the medieval era. And it looks like it got a little bit better to experience on the Steam Deck.

The new update is filled with tweaks, bug fixes, and new content, but there are a couple of specific changes that help a lot with the Deck. The GUI will now scale correctly on the Steam Deck, which is the specific Deck change in this update, but there are a couple more that I want to highlight. Text size has been increased, performance has been optimized, and the size of the game has been reduced, which all help a lot when playing on a handheld.

The rest of the update is filled with good stuff for everyone, especially with the new content. You can now apply poison to your weapons, you can right-click on map icons for more actions, a new shipbuilding skill has been added, you can upgrade your Trading Post to import exotic goods, and a new system has been added for warmth, crime, and animal detection to make sure they all perform better.

There are a ton of new changes to this update, and you can view the full changelog via their Steam Community Post.

SAELIG is available on Steam for $14.99 and is rated Playable due to needing a community controller configuration (though it does have partial support already), showing incorrect controller icons, needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, and small in-game text.
