I am shocked I haven't heard about Nova Drift before this article. The Action-Roguelike looks extremely appealing visually, while also combining classic arcade space combat with some RPG-like elements. It looks fantastic and I very much want to play it now, especially with the latest update making it much better to play on the Steam Deck.

The new 1.1 update for the game focused a lot on making the experience better for the Steam Deck. Fonts have been made crisper and more readable on smaller screens, all the controller glyphs, tutorials, and messages are clear on the Deck, and the virtual keyboard will automatically pop up when entering information for your high score. This makes it much easier to navigate on the Deck and makes it much nicer to play.

But these optimizations are not all! Unlock progression has been reworked to be based on the waves cleared instead of the score you get, the settings menus have been reworked to have easier-to-navigate tabs, the contrast of non-gameplay UI screens have been improved, achievements can be earned in Assist Mode, and much more.

There are a solid amount of minor changes and bug fixes in this update, and you can check out the full changelog via their Steam Discussion Post.

Nova Drift is on a 20% off sale for $14.39 until January 27th and is rated Steam Deck Playable due to small in-game text and showing incorrect controller icons. Luckily, this update should fix the two issues, so it should be Verified after this.
