Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Proton Experimental

A new Proton Experimental update was released in the last couple of days that includes some fixes for some great games to play on the Steam Deck. Warhammer: Vermintinde 2 won't show the prerequisite launcher on every launch anymore, The Finals has been fixed after the last update, and GTA 5 Enhanced will no longer crash on launch.

The new Proton Experimental update should automatically download if you already have the experimental layer. If not, just search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and download.

Proton Experimental 3/20/25 Update Changelog:

  • Fixed Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced crashing on launch.
  • Fixed The Finals crashing after a recent game update. (previously in Proton Hotfix)
  • Fixed Warhammer: Vermintide 2 showing prerequsite installer on every launch.
  • Added Steamworks SDK 1.62 support.
