Yep, it's that time of year again, when your main man Oliver has to stay up until 5 AM to summarize The Game Awards! Don't worry, I knew about this 2 months in advance and I slept during the day to make sure we could get this out to you as soon as possible after the show was over.
There were plenty of games shown at TGA 2024, both old and new, so we've gone to the work of getting all the trailers and release dates (hopefully) and putting them together in one place for you. The trailers are organized in the order they were presented during the show. We're also including the pre-show games here.
So without any further ado, here are the games!
Games Shown at The Game Awards 2024:
The Pre-Show Games:
Here are the games that were shown during the TGA 2024 pre-show.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (Summer 2025)
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is on the way from the minds of TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, it looks like a very smooth and fast-paced 2D side-scrolling platformer with beat'em up elements.
One Move Away (2025)
One Move Away is a part of the "cozy game" genre. In this one, your job is to organize your luggage in a vehicle to successfully fit all of your luggage in your vehicle, whether that's a big moving van or a small family car.
Slay The Spire II (2025)
We got a further look at Slay The Spire II, which will be entering Early Access in 2025. It's pretty much what you would imagine from the deck-building dungeon crawler. Which isn't a bad thing considering how well the original Slay The Spire was, and how it performed on the Steam Deck.
Dave the Diver: In the Jungle (Late 2025, DLC)
A new Dave the Diver piece of DLC is on the way from Mint Rocket. Dave the Diver: In the Jungle looks to take us to a brand new environment!
Thick As Thieves (Coming Soon)
Thick As Thieves looks like a multiplayer competitive heist game, where multiple players are tasked with stealing an object and are trying to be the one to extract with it. Reminds me a little of Deceive Inc. but without the team format.
Shadow Labyrinth (2025)
This looks like a neat little 2D action platformer, potentially a Metroidvania. Either way, it's nice to see bigger companies like Bandai Namco still producing some classic 2D platformers.
Tales of the Shire (March 25th, 2025)
I'm sure many of us are willing this game to be good, and the early trailers shown on Nintendo Directs were always a bit "iffy", the game does look bad on the Switch, but the trailer shown today at TGA 2024 does look marginally better, so hopefully we can hold out some hope for this one.
STALCRAFT: X Operations (2025)
I'm presuming this game is the sequel to STALCRAFT: X, a game I hadn't heard of until today. But it seems to be a reasonably liked Online-FPS set in a radioactive zone. This game looks to continue that theme very closely.
Midnight Murder Club (Open Beta Out Now, Early Access February 2025)
Midnight Murder Club looks to be a weird mix of a horror game and multiplayer FPS, where visibility is limited and you can be taken out in a second. It does have that sweet proximity voice chat too.
Kyora (Coming Soon)
The creators of Core Keeper are back with Kyora, which looks to almost be in a similar vein to Terraria in that it's a 2D side-scroller with some crafting and likely building elements, but with some gorgeous visuals going on and what looks to be a more voxel-style world than pixel. Excited to see more of this one.
Rematch (Summer 2025)
Rematch looks to be if Overwatch was crossed with Soccer. A 3rd-person soccer game rather than the traditional TV Camera perspective we might be used to. It looks to play like a standard soccer game except the teams are 5-a-side instead of the usual 11. It might give some much-needed reinvigoration to the soccer genre though.
Solasta II (Early Access 2025)
Solasta II is a tactical co-op cRPG that's due to launch into Early Access next year, and it looks quite beautiful. Everyone might be itching for a new cRPG after Baldur's Gate 3 is finally fading, so it could be a good time to jump into the genre again.
The Main Show:
And now we're onto the main show, so let's get into it!
The Witcher 4 (Coming Soon)
The Witcher 4 was teased with a cinematic trailer pre-rendered with Unreal Engine 5 and introduces Ciri as the protagonist for the game.
Elden Ring: Nightreign (2025)
FromSoftware and Bandai Namco are teaming up to bring us Elden Ring: NightReign. Which is a new co-op action-adventure spin-off of the franchise.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth (Coming to PC, January 23rd, 2025)
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth was announced as coming to PC in just over a month on January 23rd, this one is nominated for GOTY, so it's a pretty big deal that we're now getting it on PC. It's also coming with some visual enhancements and new features like DLSS.
Untitled Project, Codenamed Project: Robot (Coming TBA)
A new game from the creator of ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, it's as of yet untitled, and we don't really know much about it, but you can see clear inspiration from Shadow of the Colossus in the climbing mechanics teased.
The Outer Worlds 2 (Coming 2025)
We got a look at The Outer Worlds 2 gameplay in a trailer that was Obsidian's usual humorous style. It's well worth a watch. And we got confirmation that the game is planned to launch in 2025.
Split Fiction (March 6th, 2025)
Split Fiction is the new game by Josef Fares, creator of A Way Out, and It Takes Two. Famous for making their games a great co-op experience, Split Fiction should be no different, with 2 protagonists and yet again their signature online split-screen feature, where only 1 game is needed to play multiplayer. It looks to be pretty interesting, with the story based around a technology that can simulate stories, with the 2 protagonists being fictional writers where you have to play through the stories they've created.
Killing Floor III (March 2025, Closed Beta Sign-Ups Open Now)
Killing Floor III was briefly shown in one of the show's montages, with beta sign-ups now and the game just 4 months away releasing in March 2025.
Steel Hunters (2025)
Steel Hunters is a new game from Wargaming.net (World of Tanks) where you command futuristic mechs, and a PC playtest is running right now, you can sign up for it over at steelhunters.com
The Long Dark 2: Blackfrost (Early Access in 2026)
I was getting serious The Long Dark vibes from this one. Frozen post-apocalyptic wilderness, an aurora above, malfunctioning electronics, and don't you know it, it turned out to be The Long Dark 2, and it looks to have a bit more going on in the world this time, which I'm all for, plus there's co-op multiplayer!
Borderlands 4 (Coming 2025)
We got a bit more than a teaser for Borderlands 4 this time, with small snippets of actual gameplay shown, as well as a look at the protagonists we'll be able to play as in the game. And there's loot of course, plenty of loot.
Clive from FFXVI Comes to TEKKEN 8 (December 16th, 2024)
Well, I think everyone was hoping for Tifa to come to TEKKEN 8, but it looks like we're getting Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy 16 instead!
Virtua Fighter (Coming Soon)
You might have thought we were getting yet another Like A Dragon reveal when RGG Studio appeared in the trailer, but it is in fact, the return of the Virtua Fighter franchise, which I'm sure plenty of people are happy about.
Project Century (Coming Soon)
Not quite a Like A Dragon/Yakuza game, but it is from RGG Studio, and it definitely gives the vibes of a Yakuza game, but set in the early 20th century. We'll have to see what becomes of this one!
Turok Origins (Coming Soon)
Turok is back, this time as a third-person shooter. There are still plenty of Dinos though! I have no idea what else to say! Let's move on.
Helldivers 2 Major Update: Omens of Tyranny (Out Now)
Helldivers 2 just got a major update, this one involves the Helldivers protecting Super Earth from an invasion, instead of liberating other planets the Helldivers will have to liberate fellow humans from being enslaved by mind-controlling aliens, presumably that liberation involves killing them.
Warframe 1999 (December 13th, 2024)
Warframe 1999 was shown at the show again, with a lot more story exposition revealed. If you're interested, it launches tomorrow (today for some of us) and it's free to play, so go ahead and dive right in!
Palworld Feybreak Update (December 23rd, 2024)
We got a look at Palworld's next major update, entitled Feybreak, which will be launching on December 23rd. I haven't kept quite up to date with all of Palworld's updates, but this one looks fairly par-for-the-course and I can't see anything huge being added here.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword (Coming 2026)
A new game from Capcom, although Onimusha was a classic from many years ago. Onimusha: Way of the Sword combines swordplay with Japanese dark fantasy, not much was shown about the game though.
The First Berzerker: Khazan (Coming March 27th, 2025)
A cool trailer was shown off for The First Berzerker: Khazan, which is coming our way in a few short months. Sadly, it appears the trailer was fully cinematic and no further gameplay was shown.
Dungeon Fighter: Arad (Coming 2025)
Arad is a new open-world Action RPG based in the Dungeon & Fighter universe, had a pretty interesting trailer shown for it, and if you're a fan of anime art styles, it's one worth checking out.
Dying Light: The Beast (Summer 2025)
We got another further look at Dying Light: The Beast, including some gameplay for the title. With a release window confirmed for Summer 2025. Graphically the game is looking pretty impressive.
Stage Fright (Coming Soon)
Stage Fright is a new 2-player co-operative adventure game from the creators of Overcooked!, and published by Hello Games (No Man's Sky). Not much was shown about the game, but hopefully, it won't make us as angry as Overcooked! did, to this day I still haven't forgiven my niece for refusing to pass me potatoes...
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad (Coming 2025)
A Game of Thrones game is on the way! Game of Thrones: Kingsroad was announced for 2025, and takes the form of an action-adventure title.
Double Dragon: Revive (October 13th, 2025, Pre-Orders Open Now)
A short trailer was shown for Double Dragon: Revive, which is coming on October 13th, 2025, but the big news is that pre-orders are now open.
Solo Leveling:ARISE Coming to PC (2025)
Solo Leveling:ARISE, a rather popular webtoon, and subsequent mobile action RPG game, has been confirmed to be coming to the Steam platform in 2025.
The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered Coming to PC (April 4th, 2025)
The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered was given a short trailer in which it was announced that the game would be coming to PC next April.
Screamer (Coming 2026)
Milestone (previous makers of the WRC games) announced a new game called Screamer. It's unclear if this is related to the previous Screamer franchise which was a racing series in the mid-late 90s, but with this one rated PEGI 16, it's fair to say it'll probably be quite a departure if it is related.
Den of Wolves (Coming 202x)
We got a first look at the gameplay of Den of Wolves, a new co-op heist game from the creator of PAYDAY 1 & 2 and GTFO. No release date was shown for this one, and the developers seem pretty unsure themselves, with a 202x release date shown, so it's probably safe to say this one won't be launching in 2025.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (Coming Soon)
Here's one I didn't think we'd see. A new Sonic Racing game has been announced, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds. Nothing was shown for the game besides that Shadow will be a playable driver and the logo for the game.
Mafia: The Old Country (Coming Summer 2025)
We got a deeper look at Mafia: The Old Country, a game set in early 1900s Sicily. Still no gameplay, but it's good to get a wider look at the world as well as some of the characters in the game. We also got a release window of Summer 2025.
Dispatch (Coming 2025)
Dispatch looks like a fun time. A narrative-driven strategy game where you play as a dispatcher for superheroes and have to manage all the issues that such a job comes with. It's also got a star-studded cast of voice actors behind it, including Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, and Matthew Mercer.
Okami Sequel Announced (Coming Soon)
An sequel to the classic game Okami was announced, along with the original game's Director, Hideki Kamiya returning to direct the sequel. We don't have any info on the game beyond that.
Crimson Desert (Coming Late 2025)
Open-world Action-Adventure game Crimson Desert received a release window towards the end of the show, confirming a late 2025 target.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet (Coming Soon)
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a brand new IP developed by Naughty Dog (The Last of Us), and it looks like something different from their usual works. The trailer was rendered in-engine, but we've seen no gameplay yet. Also, there's a Porsche-branded spaceship and Sony still make CD players in the far future it seems. This one wasn't announced for PC and is likely PS5 (or maybe PS6) exclusive for now, but there's a good chance it'll come to PC eventually given Sony's track record with 1st party games.
