PAC-MAN MEGA TUNNEL BATTLE: CHOMP CHAMPS (What a mouthful!) is a fast-paced and multiplayer take on the classic Pac-Man formula, with cross-play on consoles and PC which allow for 64-player battles across a variety of colorful interconnected mazes, and it's just released on Steam!

If you want to see how the game plays, you can check out the launch trailer below:

You'll have to chomp your way through pellets, power-ups, Ghosts, and even other PACs across multiple interconnected mazes to become the Chomp Champ.

Chomp Champs also features a Friend system that lets up to four players join the same match, track each other’s progress, and spectate their friends’ gameplay.

Game modes include Elimination Mode with arcade-style action where players of any rank can compete and earn Tokens to redeem on customization items, and Ranked Mode where players are paired with similarly skilled opponents from around the world and compete for their place on regional and global leaderboards.

PAC-MAN MEGA TUNNEL BATTLE: CHOMP CHAMPS offers players a variety of Power Items that not only boost your abilities but can enlist the Ghosts as allies of convenience. While the best form of showing off is winning, you'll also be able to stand out with the variety of customization options on offer. With body, head, and face cosmetics, you'll be able to come up with some inventive variations on your PAC.

PAC-MAN MEGA TUNNEL BATTLE: CHOMP CHAMPS is available now on Steam for $19.99. The game has partial controller support, and the game should run fine on the Steam Deck, although I was only able to find 1 community report about the game which said it wasn't booting on the Deck, so you might want to exercise some caution.

It is worth noting, that the game is a 64-player online multiplayer title, and as of writing this article, the game has never even hit 64 concurrent players on Steam, and seems to be holding around the 20-25-player mark. Although the game is cross-platform, you may have difficulties finding a proper match to play, there are bots, but they are seemingly not up to the skill level of a decent player.

It probably goes without saying, but this game requires an internet connection to play.

Do you think this 64-player take on PAC-MAN is a good one? Let us know in the comments below!
