I love 4X strategy games like Sid Meier's Civilization, but Old World has quickly risen to be one of my favorites to play. It's an engaging experience, having to manage your family and kingdom, research new technologies, recruit different characters that develop over time, and much more. I love the game, and with the newest update, we should be able to play on the Steam Deck more easily without needing to change as much.

While there were a lot of parts to this update, the biggest one for the Steam Deck is the rendering API change. It will now default to Vulkan, which should help the game run even better on the Steam Deck. This, coupled with the performance improvements, should make this game so wonderful to play on the go.
However, the update is massive and introduces some big changes across the entirety of the game. We have a new National Ambition system, which has you select your final ambition early once you have completed 5 of them. Launch Offensives have been changed so you can't launch on a cooldown and effects don't apply to the leader, you can't crit cities anymore, earthquake intensities have been tweaked, enabled DLC will no longer get reset, and there are so many bug fixes.
The huge changelog for the update can be viewed via their Steam Community Post.

Old World is available on Steam for $39.99 and is rated Playable due to needing a community controller configuration, showing incorrect controller icons, and small in-game text.
