Of all the innovative puzzle games out there, Mosa Lina has been one of my favorites. I love that everything is randomized, so you are forced to get creative at each level, and it makes it so awesome. The fact that some levels literally may be unbeatable based on the tools you are randomly given just makes it even more enjoyable. And the new update makes it much more chaotic and fixes a really random issue on the Steam Deck.

In the new update, titled the Collaboration update, we have a small Steam Deck issue that was fixed, which would cause the game to freak out. This would happen if you hit the Discord block, so now you can cause mayhem freely without fear of freaking your game out!

Then, we have the meat of the update, which is incredible. We now have 2-player co-op multiplayer, which works offline and online, with some new modifiers if you play with another person. This supports all gameplay modes and custom levels. We also have updated game logic that sticks to 120 ticks per second, more consistent gameplay, more controller support, and it runs significantly faster and easier for the dev to extend more gameplay features (the game is now 90mb lighter than before).

And that's not all! We also have support for Discord Rich Presence, the old web browser that would run the game is now gone (so the game runs natively, and some recording changes. You used to be able to record in-game, but it impacted performance and would crash the game if left running for a while. However, that system is now gone. We can now use two new ways to record: Steam Game Recording (if you are in the Steam Beta Client), and you can save a .gif of your entire playthrough. This is much less meaty and still achieves the same result!

You can read all about this and the full changelog on their Steam Community Post.

Mosa Lina is on sale for $3.14 at 37% off until September 20th and is rated Steam Deck Playable due to using multiple windows that you have to manually switch over to. This issue should be fixed in this update, though, so that the Verified badge is most likely coming soon!
