During one of the last Steam Next Fest, I played a game that reminded me of GTA Chinatown Wars a lot, and it was running super well on the Steam Deck. That game was Maniac, and it most recently got an update that made it much more playable on the Steam Deck. And it resulted in the game finally getting the green Verified checkmark!
In the new update, we have a plethora of different bug fixes and tweaks, with a lot of them appealing to the Steam Deck. Specifically, the button and keyboard glyphs and font scaling have been fixed and improved. We also have some nice improvements that will affect the Deck like gamepad cursor fixes, a HUD scale slider, and some gamepad bugs have been corrected.
The rest of Maniac's patch has some other improvements for aiming, voice and sound volumes being adjusted, and some other minor UI bugs getting fixed. And to top it off, the game officially got the Deck Verified badge, which is what they were hoping for! I do want to offer congratulations for getting it, and while it doesn't define whether a game plays well on the Steam Deck, I can say the Next Fest demo was fantastic!
You can check out the changelog over on their Steam Community Post.
Maniac is available on Steam for $4.99.
