Recently, the base/factory building management game Learning Factory has been getting many awesome updates to help it be the best that it can be on the Steam Deck. The newest update released yesterday continues that trend and brings with it some fantastic new features like New Game + and better map generation!

This update includes many awesome improvements, but three specific ones for the Steam Deck: improved Steam Deck text input, an improved interface, and some changes to the button layout. Working in tandem, these should give us a more fluid experience while we play.

As for the rest of Learning Factory's update, we now have New Game +. You can start another factory on a new randomly generated planet, and you will get additional bonuses when researching upgraded modules. We also have a better variety of generated maps, an improved Zeppelin interface, performance optimizations, and improved saved game loading and map generation speeds. I do love some good random generation, so the greater variety is a big highlight for me, but I am looking forward to trying out New Game + for myself!

You can view the full changelog for the update on their Steam Community Post.

Learning Factory is available now on Steam for $14.99. It has a native Linux build and is rated Steam Deck Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, small in-game text, and manual display resolution settings. It does mention you need to manually invoke the on-screen keyboard, but that should be fixed with this new update.
