August is a great month for reveals and new releases; Iron Meat is no exception. Indie publisher Retroware has joined forces with developer Ivan Suvarov to bring his vision to all platforms, and we do not have long to wait! The title alone is enough to be excited about, and this frantic side-scrolling shooter will be available to play on September 26th.

Retro fans will love this one. In Iron Meat, players take upon the role of defender against a horrifying alien threat known as The Meat: a biomass from the Moon hellbent on destroying the world.

Across nine levels of hellish battle, players must use all the tools at their disposal against the many monstrosities of The Meat, relying on their reflexes and powerful weapons to survive. With couch co-op thrown in for good measure, it reminds me of old LAN evenings when people get together for a fun night of gaming. And don’t forget all the pizza!

From the trailer and screenshots, Iron Meat looks like the best blend of the past and modern era. All that side-scrolling and fierce action with fluid controls combine well, and unlockable unit skins add a little more flair.
