Hot off the heels of a SteamOS fix for the graphical issues on the Steam Deck, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle got a new update that may have actually been a bit helpful for playing it on the go. The update includes support for FSR 3.1 and Intel XeSS 1.4, which could theoretically upscale the game to make it look better and possibly help performance if it's low enough. Sadly, we aren't able to see for ourselves, since this update broke compatibility with the Steam Deck.

Before the update, we were able to load into the game and actually play it, albeit with some performance issues. Now, we can't load into the game at all and are met with an error:

I tried different Proton layers to see if this would be fixed at all, and unfortunately, I couldn't get around it. Even though the game is harder to run on the Deck's hardware, it would still have been nice to try out the new upscaling options and see if it would become playable. The update sounds like it is a huge help in general, with fixes across the board, repair kits being selectable from inventory directly, and more. It's an amazing game, which we noted in our review, but it's a shame we can't try it out on the Deck yet.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle can be purchased on Steam for $69.99, but if you want to save some money, you can get it on Fanatical for $59.49 with coupon code FANATICAL15.
