While I am not super surprised by this after playing the game for myself, I will say I am very pleased to see it! Yesterday, PlayStation released God of War: Ragnarok on PC, and we tested it out on the Steam Deck to see if it could run and how well it would. Not only does it run, but it is incredibly well-optimized so far and plays very well. And it seems that Valve also agrees, since the game has officially gotten the green checkmark.
Earlier today, Valve officially gave God of War: Ragnarok the Steam Deck Verified badge, showing that it is a solid experience for the Steam Deck. And we can confirm this personally! At FSR 3 balanced, the game looks amazing and sticks above 30 FPS the whole time, with a lot of areas staying above 40. Even in fights, the game was holding solid, and that's just fantastic. I do have worries for the end moments of the game, but so far, it is holding up nicely.
The one thing that held me back from thinking this would be Verified was the account linking. The game immediately pops up with a web browser that you have to use the touchscreen for to link your Steam account to a PlayStation Network account, but it's possible you could skip this and just close the entire thing. Regardless, it's a small nuisance to get rid of before getting to the actual game!
I still have some issues with the Verified system, however, and I don't agree with how it's marketed. There are still games that have graphical issues or don't run but have the green checkmark, while Unsupported rated games can run exceptionally well, and there's no description as to why it is rated this way. It's something I would love to see fixed up or at least changed so the wording doesn't include calling games with the checkmark a "great experience," but I can only hope for so much.
God of War: Ragnarok can be purchased on Steam for $59.99.

Another major issue with this PC port is that the built in controller doesn't work at all on Steam deck when it's offline. It only works online and I tried every way I could think of to fix it but it was worthless...
I’m very pleasantly surprised with how well the game runs on my Steam Deck OLED, but I don’t think it should be verified. Personally, until the game can be launched offline without crashing immediately I think it should be listed by Valve as Playable with a note indicating a network connection is required to launch the game.
Hopefully Sony will resolve this issue quickly, but beyond that it’s been a blast playing Ragnarok on the Deck; I’m not sure why but I just greatly prefer handheld gaming.
