I love a good multiplayer farming game to play with my wife, and Farm Together 2 seems like a great contender to try out. It has some issues, and a lack of content makes it hard to recommend over the first one right now, but it shows promise! It was released into early access two days ago, and yesterday, we had the first patch release with some bug fixes and improvements, including one on the Steam Deck.

In the first patch of the early access release, we focus on fixing some first-day issues and making minor improvements. For the Steam Deck specifically, we have some tricks implemented to detect how much time passes when the Deck resumes the game from being asleep. The team mentions that it should work in most general use cases, but it isn't perfected.

The rest of Farm Together 2's update includes other bug fixes like beards now saving properly, certain fonts now working in the chat window, and farm and item experience partial progress now being saved correctly. We also have a couple of improvements, like the tutorial detecting if you have gone ahead of it, disabled rain effects, and shopkeepers no longer clapping.

The team also took a moment to address some of the criticisms thrown their way. This includes weather effects that affect gameplay elements coming back, fuel consumption being increased in a later update, an increased capacity in shop inventories or reduced upgrade requirements, and looking into solutions for the Ponds income penalty. There was also a comment about Flat Farms returning, but the team will most likely not add it due to having the ability to terraform the land.

You can check out the full changelog and comments on their Steam Community Post.

Farm Together 2 is available on sale until May 14th for $17.99. The game is rated Unknown for the Steam Deck, but the developer has commented that it runs well on the device! You may need to change UI settings, but otherwise, players have said it runs well.
