Pine Studio has just launched some new DLC for Escape Simulator, this time focused on a collaboration with Croteam's The Talos Principle. This free DLC invites players into the world of The Talos Principle, where you can play solo or with friends by solving puzzles that require taking both time and space into consideration.

Sound intriguing? Check out the DLC's trailer down below:

We were sent a key early to check out the DLC for ourselves, and as a fan of Escape Simulator and how fun trying to figure out puzzles in co-op can be, I just had to try it out. I love it. It nails the look and feel of Talos Principle, even if there are some differences to help it blend in more with Escape Simulator, but each puzzle within the room had me scratching my head and I had such a great feeling whenever I completed one.

There's also this adorable cat that walks on the concrete beams above you, and how can you not love that?

The new map runs quite well on Steam Deck, too. It is best at around 45 FPS, with no changes to the settings. Everything stays crisp, looks decently detailed, and stays below 15W battery drain. We haven't gone more in-depth with the game to have full-on recommended settings, but I can say this free DLC will be very playable on Deck no matter what.

If The Talos Principle DLC isn't enough for you, you'll also be excited to know that there's also a ‘Mayan DLC’ which is coming December 5th and will cost $5.99, this DLC will feature 4 new escape rooms, and as you might expect, is set in the Central American jungle. And, of course, there are 6 previously released DLCs available for the game for all that glorious escape room goodness.

Having played Escape Simulator myself on the Steam Deck, I can confirm that the game works perfectly fine on the device, so you shouldn't have to worry about making a purchase on this one!

Escape Simulator is available now on Steam for $19.99, while the free The Talos Principle DLC just launched! The upcoming Mayan DLC will be available on December 5th for $5.99.
