The next free game for Epic's 2024 holiday giveaways is here, and I see a lot of potential for some grand co-op adventures. Dark and Darker is a free-to-play PvPvE dungeon crawler where you will go around to loot and destroy enemies with swords, shields, and magic, all while trying to stay alive. And while the base game is free, the paid DLC that upgrades your account is what's free from Epic.

The $30 DLC brings your account to Legendary Status, giving you access to more difficult dungeons, 8 additional character slots, the ability to sell items on the Marketplace, gain access to the trading post, get a shared stash to share loot with all of your created characters, and you gain 50% more Triumph experience to get new cosmetics. And for the next day, you can get it all for free.

You will need to make sure you grab the base game before redeeming the DLC, or having everything in your cart all at once.

Dark and Darker is currently rated Steam Deck Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, and small in-game text. It also has a Gold ProtonDB rating with lots of positive reviews. However, a lot of them mention playing using Proton GE 9-7, but it may be playable without.

You can get the game and its DLC over on Epic right now, but be quick since this free deal only lasts the next 24 hours!
