Are you ready for an oddly sticky adventure? Well, you’re in luck because Completely Stretchy and Uncomfortably Sticky, developed by Dan Ferguson and published by Super Rare Games and Warp Digital, will be playable for the first time during Steam Next Fest, from October 14th to 21st, 2024!

While there’s not much information out yet about the game, what we do know is delightfully strange. First-person exploration platformer Completely Stretchy takes place on the enigmatic and eccentric Grombi Isles. You find yourself unexpectedly changed after a difficult shift at the Elektro factory; your body has become blue, pliable, and yes, unbearably sticky. Moreover, the energy creatures known as Elektros, which were supposed to be contained, have escaped! Now, it's up to you to use your newfound abilities to climb, swing, and stick your way through the weird landscapes, track down the Elektros, and figure out why your body has become so bizarrely stretchy. Like a bendy Spiderman!

I couldn't help but think of Sable, another game from Super Rare Games, while I watched the gameplay trailer. I was immediately drawn to the familiar alien environments and clean, minimalist art style. Aside from visuals, the tone is quirky and humorous, reminiscent of Justin Roiland's work.

Meanwhile, the stretchy, physics-based traversal mechanics are reminiscent of Windlands, a VR title that also features similar grab & swing mechanics. It appears that Fully Stretchy blends all these inspirations to create something pleasantly original. I'm drawn in by the lighthearted humor and the exciting, fast-paced traversal system, even though we've only seen a tiny preview thus far.

I'm eager to learn more about Completely Stretchy during Steam Next Fest, as there's still a lot to discover. Crazy creatures, peculiar physics, and the prospect of a charming, quirky adventure are enough to pique anyone's interest. If you're up for something completely different from anything you've ever played, keep an eye out for this one and perhaps Wishlist it on Steam today!
