While this may not be about the Steam Deck directly, it seems the mobile PC space is going to get a little bigger soon! The AYANEO 2, one of the new flagship devices from AYANEO, will be starting to ship out in September, with mass shipments commencing in October. This was announced via their 5 hour video on YouTube at around the 5 hour and 7 minute mark.
The AYANEO 2 series will have 3 different models, the AYANEO 2 Geek, AYANEO 2, and AYANEO NEXT 2. The Geek model is their cheapest of the three in their "Affordable Premium Edition", whereas the 2 is in the "Flagship" category and the NEXT 2 is in the "Top Premium".
There doesn't seem to be any pricing for the 2 yet, though the 2 Geek is pricing starting at $699. Based on this product line, it wouldn't be off-base to infer it will be priced higher than that.
This is exciting to think about though. The AYANEO 2 is sporting more powerful internals including a Zen 3 Ryzen 7 6800U, an 8 core/16 thread CPU at 4.7GHz, and a Radeon 680M GPU with 12CUs and a 1080p IPS screen. Compared to the Deck, which has a Zen 2 4 core/8 thread CPU at 3.5GHz and a GPU with only 8CUs with a 1280x800 IPS screen, it is setup to be more powerful for sure.
Though how much more powerful realistically and if the price will justify it? Only time will tell. For now, we can speculate and be excited that competition is in full force. This will ultimately help the consumers as more devices try to market themselves as the "best" and add in features we all want at lower prices (Come on Steam Deck V2 with OLED).
You can watch the video from AYANEO below, but be warned, it is 5 hours long and has no subtitles:
