AutoForge is an interesting concept. It makes me think of Terraria mixed with Factorio, and I really liked both of those games, so this one seems pretty cool! It is a 2D sandbox where you build an automated factory and progress through tech trees as you explore, upgrade, and defend from enemies. And in the newest update for the game, it should be performing much better on the Steam Deck.

In the new 0.3 update for the game, titled Strange Encounters, we have a solid amount of new updates, with a couple that will be great for the Steam Deck and one that improves it directly. There were some major performance issues on the Deck before this update, but now, those should all be fixed! We also have cloud saves, great for playing on multiple different devices like a Deck and Desktop PC!

But the update includes a lot more as well! We have a new upgrade to the Mainframe to enable fast travel between mana conduits, an expanded tech tree, new automated defensive structures like elemental turrets and sky sappers, an overhauled invasion system, and new upgrades for the inventory like quick transferring and a trash can.

There's a bunch of new changes and fixes with the update too, so check out their Steam Community Post for the full changelog.

AutoForge is on sale for $16.99 (15% Off) until September 6th and is rated Playable due to needing a community controller configuration, showing incorrect controller icons, small in-game text, and needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard.
