Mark your calendars, spacefaring explorers! The countdown to the release of Glitchwalkers, the first-ever paid expansion for Astroneer, has officially started thanks to System Era Softworks and Devolver Digital. This sought-after DLC is set to debut on November 13th and has the potential to significantly enhance the well-liked space exploration sandbox game. PC players on Steam can look forward to stepping into an expansive new world filled with unique biomes, advanced technology, and fresh gameplay features.

Glitchwalkers: The Next Chapter in Astroneer’s Legacy

Glitchwalkers will carry on Astroneer's renowned survival sandbox experience by launching a brand-new planet, the biggest one to date. As they explore this enormous celestial body, which has complex surface and cave biomes, players will encounter new difficulties. However, with the addition of Glitchwalkers' first real antagonist, the stakes are higher than ever.

Meet Lyn, a former ESS Elysium crew member whose manipulation of the Astroneer Training Program (ATP) code puts the system as a whole in jeopardy. To prevent Lyn from destroying the ATP, players must cooperate with Frank, the Head of Maintenance for the Elysium. You must engage in vigorous counter-hacking, breach firewalls, and stop Lyn's evil schemes from causing havoc if you want to succeed.

Glitched Storms and a Return to Form

The return of Storms, which the Astroneer community has long desired, is among the most exciting aspects of the Glitchwalkers expansion. Players must negotiate Glitched Storms that arise throughout the solar system in both the original game and the new DLC, each of which poses a threat to their progress. As players advance through the game, they must figure out how to survive and stay safe from hackers, which adds another level of complexity to these digital storms.

Aeoluz: A New Planet to Explore

Aeoluz, a massive new planet in a malfunctioning solar system, is the focal point of the Glitchwalkers expansion. In addition to a new tech tree and modules to unlock both new and classic technology, this enormous world offers players a variety of new surface and cave biomes to explore. For experienced Astroneers looking for new challenges and chances to exercise their creativity in building, exploring, and crafting, Aeoluz is the ideal playground.

A free companion update to the base game, which includes bug fixes, new gameplay features, and quality-of-life enhancements, will also be made available to players who aren't quite ready to dive into Glitchwalkers.
