I may have a powerful desktop computer and multiple handhelds, but I always try to get every game I get on the Steam Deck, even the more demanding ones. I like trying to make the game playable on the Deck, even with some compromises, but there are unfortunately some games that just aren't a great experience. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is one of those games. While it has some moments where it runs okay, there are still some issues here and there, which are enough for me to disagree with its Verified badge. However, it sounds like I wasn't the only one who felt this way, and the game no longer has the green checkmark.

Yesterday, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was downgraded from the Verified badge to the Playable one, and I agree with this rating much more. Looking at the store page, the rating changed because you need to manually change the graphical settings for it to perform well. I do agree that manual changes are needed for optimal gameplay, and while I feel like it still isn't the most playable on the Deck, I do agree that the rating should have changed.

Still, there is something special about the game being playable on the Steam Deck at all. I feel that way about all of PlayStation's games, even if they aren't perfect, it's still amazing being able to play them on the go. However, I do want them to have an accurate rating to not mislead potential customers who may see that green checkmark and expect a great experience without needing to do anything.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 can be purchased on Steam for $59.99, but you can get it on GreenManGaming for $50.99 with coupon code MAR15.
