V Rising has been one of the most intriguing games to watch through its development. Releasing in early access two years ago, you are a Vampire that has to survive an open world, build up your own castle, and conquer the land using your unique abilities and working together with friends in co-op. It feels like a survival take on Diablo with a Vampire spin, and I love it. And just a few moments ago, the game has finally evolved out of early access with its 1.0 update.

V Rising's 1.0 release is filled with tons and tons of new content and fixes to the game. For the Steam Deck specifically, we have official gamepad/controller support. The entire game should be easily playable with a controller with a reimagined HUD interface, menus, and more. There's also haptic feedback for controllers that support it, including the Dualsense controller. There have also been performance improvements for some visual effects and an engine update for both the client and server (major optimization improvements).

Other than these, we do have a brand new Biome with over 11 new locations, a brand new enemy, the additions of Cargo Travelers that you can intercept for loot, new stations and structures for your castle, new spells and weapons, and a plethora of improvements across all aspects of the game. The amount of changes in this update is immense, and if you want to check it all out, you can see the full changelog in their blog post.

V Rising is available on Steam for 10% off until May 22 for $31.49 to celebrate the 1.0 release. it is currently rated Steam Deck Playable due to small in-game text and showing incorrect controller icons, though after this update, the latter issue may be fixed now.
