If you are in the mood for some co-op zombie slaying, Ultimate Zombie Defense 2 may be a great game to check out. This early access title has you fighting off zombies wave by wave, upgrading your base with traps and defenses, and continuing on and on while getting new weapons and taking down bosses to get the highest score possible. It looks extremely interesting, and after the latest update, it sounds like it's getting much better to play on the Steam Deck.

Specifically for the Steam Deck, the UI has been fixed for 16:10 aspect ratios, which is the native aspect ratio of the Steam Deck. This does make it better to use the UI with the device, but what makes me more excited is the optimized RAM and disk space usage. Both of these have been reduced, from an average of 11GB to 7.5GB and 22GB to 15GB, respectively. Taking up less space and using less RAM is beneficial for limited power hardware, and the Deck is exactly that, so I love it. There's also full controller support now, which I am so happy to see.

Other than these improvements, there have been some new features and fixes. A new upgrade for the Auto Sentry allows it to target at a wider arc, you can now turn off shadows, Necromancer speed has been doubled, the minimap now has icons, guns will now hit again if the enemy is too close, performance has been improved on the Cemetery map, and more. It's a nice update overall, and I think it should make playing on the Deck a more enjoyable experience.

Ultimate Zombie Defense 2 is available for $14.99 and is rated Unsupported, but it seems like the team is working to make it playable on the device.
