Stellar Blade came out swinging last year when it was released on PS5. The fast-paced action-adventure game was one of the more popular games on PS5 last year, and recently, it was confirmed that it would be coming to PC this year. This is always wonderful to see, though I was worried about how well the game would run on the Steam Deck since it looks like it is best enjoyed at higher framerates. While we don't have confirmation on how well it will run yet, it looks like developer Shift Up is optimizing it for the Deck!

Earlier today, Shift Up released their 4th quarter business performance results on their website, and it contains some interesting insight into their business. On page 13, they discuss the expected results of the PC version of Stellar Blade, and it is here that they mention optimizing the game to have smooth gameplay on the Steam Deck:
We have identified and analyzed both successful and underperforming cases of console exclusives released on PC, and we are preparing to release the game in a way that ensures continued success in the PC market. This will include optimization, enhancing user convenience, adding supplementary content, and tailored marketing strategies unique to Shift Up. In particular, we plan to optimize the game to ensure smooth gameplay even in UMPC (Steam Deck) environments.

I appreciate that Shift Up took a moment to specifically mention the Steam Deck and other UMPC (Ultra-Mobile PCs), and it makes me feel more confident that the game will be enjoyable on the Steam Deck. The team seems to have a good grasp on a good port to PC, which includes optimization, enhanced user experience, and new content. The mention of the Deck is great too, since it acknowledges how important making sure it is enjoyable on the go is.
There is no word on when it will be released on PC, but Shift Up is taking the release seriously. Hopefully, we will get more information soon, and I can't wait to see how well it runs for myself. You can also check out the rest of the sheet, which has some intriguing information about their upcoming game Project Witches, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, and the global impact of Stellar Blade.
