There were so many great games that got the Steam Deck Verified or Playable badge this last week! I was shocked to see Hades 2, which doesn't have a concrete release date yet, get the Verified badge, but we also had some other greats here, like Ender Magnolia and Blackout Protocol!

Here are the 11 highlights we found:

Verified or Playable games don't automatically mean they work amazing out of the box. Some of these games may require work to optimize and play well. Here are our thoughts on the Verified system and how it can be fixed.

Steam Deck Verified/Playable Highlights 4/29/24 - 5/5/24

Hades 2 (Verified)

Hades290OLED 11

Battle beyond the Underworld using dark sorcery to take on the Titan of Time in this bewitching sequel to the award-winning rogue-like dungeon crawler.

The game is coming soon and is rated Verified. We tried the technical test on the Steam Deck, and I can say it is wonderful to play on it.

ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist (Verified)

Decades after the events of ENDER LILIES, Homunculi — sorrowful, artificial life forms — roam the land. In this dark fantasy Metroidvania, face formidable enemies and explore a bewitching post-apocalyptic world. Humans and Homunculi — what awaits at the end of the quest for their salvation?

The game is $19.99 and rated Verified.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes (Verified)

A woman, summoned by an eccentric man to participate in a project in an old hotel somewhere in central Europe, becomes embroiled in a game of illusions, increasingly dangerous and surreal. Now you are invited to fall into the same rabbit hole, in a non-linear mystery with an immense amount of handcrafted puzzles, constantly presenting you with new riddles to solve, each leading you closer to deciphering the enigma of Lorelei and the Laser Eyes.

The game will be released on May 16 and is rated Verified.

BIOMORPH (Playable)

BIOMORPH is a dark metroidvania game where you become the creatures that you kill! Solve ingenious puzzles and navigate a stunning hand-drawn world. Meet quirky characters, rebuild a city, and uncover the secrets of a sprawling, fallen civilization… and of your own mysterious origins.

The game is $19.99 and rated Playable due to small in-game text.

#BLUD (Playable)

Save your friends, fight off the vampire apocalypse, and survive the horrors of freshman field hockey practice in #BLUD, a delightfully zany animated dungeon crawler that blurs the line between action RPGs and hyperkinetic 90s cartoons.

The game will be released on June 18 and is rated Playable due to small in-game text.

Yars: Recharged (Playable)

Shoot from affar or get nibble away up-close and personal in a boss-rush, bullet-dodging revival of the 1982 Atari classic title, Yars' Revenge. Take on 60 unique enemy encounters alone or with a friend in local co-op.

The game is $9.99 and rated Playable because the resolution of the game needs to be set manually.

Braid, Anniversary Edition (Verified)

Control the flow of time to solve puzzles in this new version of the indie classic, featuring fully repainted artwork, a new world of puzzles, and seriously in-depth commentary.

The game is on sale for 50% at $9.99 until May 14th and is rated Verified.

The Mildew Children (Verified)

Featuring a blend of 2D adventure and visual novel, The Mildew Children is a grim tale about a village inhabited only by children who follow savage pagan traditions. A young witch named Kyrphel, along with her sisters, are bound to perform a macabre Ritual in order to save their village.

The game is $9.99 and rated Verified.

Blackout Protocol (Verified)

Shed some light and spray some lead, in a challenging top-down roguelite shooter playable alone or with friends. Unlock new weapons and grow stronger as you battle your way through the shifting corridors of a top-secret research base under assault from beyond.

The game is $12.99 and rated Verified.

Kingsgrave (Playable)

Welcome to Kingsgrave, a gloomy adventure inspired by classic Zelda games. Gain more power and obtain new combat skills as you explore the fractured land, slay foes created by plague, solve puzzles and rebuild villages. Reclaim your realm!

The game is $9.99 and is rated Playable due to small in-game text, showing incorrect controller icons, and needing a community controller configuration.

Of Life and Land (Playable)

Of Life and Land is a charming settlement-building strategy game paired with a rich simulation experience. Every animal and plant strives to find its place in nature while you lead your villagers to their future. Expand to different regions and trade with local factions to gain needed resources.

The game is $24.99 and rated Playable due to small in-game text, needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, showing incorrect controller icons, and needing a community controller configuration.

And that's all for this week's highlights! You can also check out last week's highlights, which include awesome games like Dead Island 2, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, and Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom.
