The Steam Deck is one of the most prominent gaming devices in recent years. It brought PC gaming into a console-like experience while making it portable and significantly cheaper than the competition. This allowed it to help the handheld PC market grow and become a viable place for consumers to enjoy games without being chained to a desk and paying a hefty $1000+ sum. It all started with the original Steam deck LCD model, and now, Certified Refurbished versions are available and cheaper than ever before!

Currently, you can get a:

  • 64GB - $279
  • 256GB - $319
  • 512GB - $359

Honestly, these prices are nuts. I remember when the original Deck went on sale, and I was celebrating the 512GB getting a 20% cut to $519. Now, thanks to this refurbished model, you can get it for $359. It's a deal you don't want to pass up, that's for sure! All you have to do is go to the Steam Deck Refurbished link and add whichever model you want to the cart. At the time of writing this, all models are still available, but I expect them to sell out soon, especially the 512GB model!

As Valve states, each Certified Refurbished Deck has gone through over 100 tests at one of Valve's facilities and is held to the same standards as retail units. Each device goes through a factory reset and software update and must meet or exceed performance standards set by new retail units. They also come with a one-year warranty, refurbished power supply, carrying case, and a quick start guide.

While we do have an OLED model out now, and it does have some great benefits like the OLED screen, bigger battery, lighter weight, and WiFi 6E support, you can't beat the entry price of $279 for an extremely powerful and efficient handheld that can play some of the biggest games that are releasing now. We did write about whether we feel the OLED is worth the upgrade, and you can check it out if you would like some insight.

But if you are on the fence about handheld PC gaming, this is going to be the best way to get in with a powerful and efficient device that can play PC and emulated games without breaking your bank!
