Nioh Complete Edition Proton Experimental

A new Proton Experimental update was released, and it's a small one overall. We have a couple of new playable games, and some VR mode fixes, which don't impact the Steam Deck much. However, we do have some changes that will! Nioh: Complete Edition won't hang on a black screen when trying to skip videos, Final Fantasy 14's launcher won't randomly error out when downloading the game, and video playback has been fixed for ATRI -My Dear Moments-.

The new Proton Experimental update should automatically download if you already have the experimental layer. If not, just search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and download.

Proton Experimental 12/18/24 Update Changelog:

  • Now playable: Willful, X Rebirth VR Edition.
  • Fixed VR mode in Evochron Legacy SE.
  • Fixed Nioh: Complete Edition hanging on a black screen when skipping videos.
  • Improved situation with Final Fantasy XIV launcher randomly erroring out during game download.
  • Fixed video playback in ATRI - My Dear Moments-.
