PlayStation just hosted their latest State of Play event, where they showcased some of the latest games to be coming to their PlayStation platform. Of course, in this day and age, most games are released across multiple platforms, so there's plenty of news in there for us PC gamers too.

So let's dive into what was shown at the State of Play!

Monster Hunter Wilds Gets February 28th, 2025 Release Date

The unbridled force of nature runs wild and relentless, with environments transforming drastically from one moment to the next. This is a story of monsters and humans and their struggles to live in harmony in a world of duality.

In my opinion, this might be the biggest news of the State of Play. I'm no Monster Hunter fan, but I feel like many people felt this game would be launching later than February, I certainly did.

More Monster Hunter Wilds footage will be shown during the Tokyo Game Show on the 26th of September at 7AM Pacific Time.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Announced, Launches October 31st

Experience Aloy’s legendary quest to unravel the mysteries of a future Earth ruled by Machines. Use devastating tactical attacks against your prey and explore a majestic open world in this award-winning action RPG!

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered was leaked a few days ago, but it's now been officially confirmed, and is launching on October 31st. If you do happen to already own the original Horizon Zero Dawn, which only launched on the PC back in 2020, you can upgrade to the Remastered version for $9.99, which is nice.

There's no Steam store page for this one yet though, I imagine it'll be up shortly.

LEGO Horizon Adventures Gets a Release Date, Launches November 14th, 2024

Join machine hunter Aloy as she leads a colourful crew of heroes through the lush wilderness on a quest to save the world and learn the secrets of her past. Dive into boundless adventure, customize to your heart’s content, and take on action-packed battles solo or with friends.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS Gets a January 17th, 2025 Release Date

Experience an unrivaled sense of realism on the battlefield, fueled by exhilarating 1 vs. 1,000 action and the rush of massive armies! A nameless hero conquers the turbulent and chaotic Three Kingdoms in this latest DYNASTY WARRIORS series entry.

Lunar Collection Brings the JRPG Classics to the Modern Age - Coming Spring 2025

Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete—now with updated graphics, sound, and new quality-of-life improvements are coming to Steam in Spring 2025.

No Steam store page for this one either yet!

Horror Adventure 'The Midnight Walk' Revealed - Coming TBA

Follow The Midnight Walk in a dark adventure from the minds behind Lost in Random. Befriend a lost lantern creature and light your way through a world of wonder and terror. Outsmart monsters and marvel at details in a landscape handcrafted with real clay and animated in a stop-motion style.

Although this is heavily marketed as a VR game, you can play it without VR using a gamepad. However, the system requirements on Steam are pretty heavy, so it's possible this one won't run on a Steam Deck.

Long-Awaited Action Adventure 'Hell is Us' Gets a Gameplay Trailer - Coming 2025

If war is the closest we get to hell on earth, it's because Earth harbours the worst of demons: humankind. In an isolated country ravaged by infighting, discover the secrets of your past and deal with the repercussions of a mysterious calamity.

The reveal of gameplay has been a long time coming after the game was announced over 2 years ago in early 2022.

ArcheAge Chronicles is an MMORPG Trying to Redefine the Genre - Coming 2025

Explore Auroria, a vast and vibrant world brimming with rich lore and thrilling action. ArcheAge Chronicles delivers an immersive experience that will capture players' hearts, whether they are newcomers to the setting or seasoned adventurers.

The original Archeage was a fairly successful MMO when it first launched, however, it quickly dropped in player numbers and was shut down this year, looks like the IP is being revived for another shot. Again, the system requirements are fairly high on this one, so it's unlikely the Steam Deck will be running it.

TMNT: Shredders Revenge - Radical Reptiles DLC is Out Now

In this final content update for Shredder’s Revenge, your favorite ninja squad is joined by two fan-favorite characters from the classic 1987 TV show, Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa! The radical reptiles are finally ready for their playable debut in a beat-em-up video game and a long-awaited reunion with the gang.

Digital Deluxe Owners of Sonic X Shadow Generations Get a Movie Tie-In Level on December 12

SonicShadowGenerationsStock2 1

Not much else to say here, except that the "Movie Pack" as it's called, will also feature voice-acting by Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog, and this is likely the "Level" that SEGA previously mentioned as being exclusive to Digital Deluxe owners. The DLC will launch on December 12th, 2024.

FANTASIAN Neo Dimension Gets a Release Date - December 5th, 2024

Embark on an adventure to discover your memories and save the world from a mechanical infection. Maneuver your skill trajectories during battle, and dive into a new dimension with a unique twist on a classic RPG experience.

The game has some beautiful backgrounds which are apparently handmade dioramas mixed with CG! Who knew? The music is also by Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu, so there's sure to be a good soundtrack to battle along to.

The Divisive Dragon Age: Veilguard Gets More Gameplay Footage - Releases October 31st, 2024

Unite the Veilguard and defy the gods in Dragon Age™: The Veilguard, an immersive single-player RPG where you become the leader others believe in.

The game is proving highly divisive among Dragon Age fans due to the big change in the gameplay as well as the art style. This latest video showcasing a boss battle will probably only further cement how much the game has changed from the originals.

The game is rated as Verified on the Steam Deck according to Valve's testing, but the system requirements are quite high, so we'll believe it when we see it for this one.

Alan Wake 2's The Lakehouse Expansion is Coming this October, Exclusive to Digital Deluxe Owners

If you own Alan Wake 2 and were looking for a bit of extra content, then you're in luck, as The Lakehouse expansion DLC is launching next month, however, it is seemingly exclusive to Digital Deluxe owners, so you can't buy it separately, you can upgrade to the Digital Deluxe version at any time, which also grants you the Night Springs expansion as well.

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered Announced - December 10th, 2024

Experience the epic conflict of Kain and Raziel in original form or with remastered graphics.

I'll be honest, at points in this trailer the GIF of Pam from The Office saying "They're the same picture" kept popping into my head. But if these games were your jam back in the day, hopefully, these remasters will help you enjoy them more!

Oddly, there's no mention of anything being improved except the graphics. The Steam page makes no mention of quality-of-life improvements, support for higher resolutions, or any of the usual niceties you get from a company like Nightdive Studios.

Fear The Spotlight Will be Relaunching on Steam on October 24th

Fear the Spotlight is an atmospheric third-person horror adventure with a disturbing mystery to unravel. Sneak into school after hours with Vivian and Amy, survive a séance gone wrong, solve tactile puzzles, and, whatever you do, stay out of the spotlight…

This game was originally released back in 2023, but was pulled from sale after the developers secured Blumhouse Games as a publisher, now they've reworked and enhanced the game, and are bringing it back to Steam on October 24th.

A Little Look of Gameplay for Towers of Aghasba, Releasing into Early Access November 2024

Explore a stunning open world filled with majestic creatures and quirky characters. Nurture withered lands into vibrant ecosystems and flex your creativity as you build a thriving island civilization in balance with nature. Invite friends to craft, harvest, and hang on your fantasy island.
