Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have just revealed the latest Like a Dragon entry, and I have to say, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii looks wild in all the best ways. Goro Majima, the ever-chaotic legend of the yakuza world, is back, but this time he's washed up on the shores of a deserted island with no memory of who he is.

The game, set to release on February 28, 2025, promises a unique blend of action and adventure as Majima turns pirate in this modern-day treasure hunt on the high seas.

I’m a huge fan of Majima’s psychotic energy, and the idea of him as a pirate feels like a match made in gaming heaven. The new fighting styles—especially the "Sea Dog" style with pirate tools—seem like they’ll bring some fresh mechanics to the series. And of course, Majima’s iconic "Mad Dog" fighting style makes a return, so it looks like players will get the best of both worlds.

I love the idea of switching between dual-wielding short swords and brutal combos while fighting across the seas and mysterious islands. Plus, you get to assemble a crew and upgrade a ship. It’s like the perfect pirate-yakuza crossover we never knew we needed.

In terms of story, it feels like classic Like a Dragon, full of unexpected twists. Majima teams up with a kid named Noah, and they soon find themselves mixed up with modern-day pirates, criminals, and a hunt for legendary treasure. The mix of memory loss, shipwrecks, and treasure maps feels over the top in the best way.

Honestly, if you're a fan of Majima or the Like a Dragon series in general, this new entry looks like it’s going to be an absolute blast. I can’t wait to explore this pirate world on Steam when it drops next year!
